Sheeting the hulls

Both hulls almost fully sheeted and nearing the fibre glassing stage.
The plan was to have one hull fully glassed by Christmas 2010.

A frame

While it may have been early in the build we had the opportunity to get the "A" frame fabricated and delivered by Alan Mcnamee during his trip south from Queensland. He has done a very professional job and took the hastle out of us having to fabricate it ourselves.
Now all we need to do is get the boat up to the stage where it cal be installed.

Rudders

The rudders were started months ago and can now be completed as again Alan made the shafts, bearings and supplied the outer PVC sleeve also. These also were delivered during his trip.
The objective was to glass one of the two hulls over the christmas /new year break , well is it going to happen? I am over the hole filling and sanding plus the shed is now 33 deg and getting hotter. This must be part of the job that no one likes. I dread doing the fairing.
The bow shaping is a work of art and has taken some patience. Never knew the creativity was in me.
After the first round of screw hole filling there are now still little holes remaining. How perfect does the pre glassing finish need to be? Perfect, is the answer!

Both hulls are being completed at the same time. What work happens on one hull is repeated at the same time on the next. So what you see below is the same for both hulls.
Pad Eyes

Pad eyes with backing plates are being pre installed while access to the bow area is possible. As my stainless steel manufacturing skills are not well practiced we got Alan Mcnamee in Qld to fabricate the backing plates. The pad eyes will be used if a prodder is desired at a much latter date.

This shows the location for the pad eys. 19mm holes drilled and filled with a glue mix before being redrilled to the required 9mm bolt clearance size.
Rudder mounting sleeves

Both rudder mounting sleeves are now installed with only a small bit of tidy up sanding needed on one hull
Bridge deck

Beginning of the bridgedeck and the motor transom. As we are unsure about which motors to use the transom has not been shaped. We will hold off on this for a while.
Mini keel prep

Preparation for mini keel.

The mini keels are now stuck fast just need a tidy up.
